Tunisian Club Terminates Togolese Striker Contract After Just Five Days

We’ve all heard about clubs signing a player and then immediately offloading him, normally on a loan deal to provide them with first team football, but this particular case may be the first in Africa.

Tunisian side US Tataouine have terminated the contract of striker Koudagba Kossi just five days after signing him from ASC Kara because of a possible kidney defect.

Despite announcing the deal for the Togolese, a failed medical has prompted the club’s decision to terminate his contract.

This unfamiliar happening was reported by Togolese media Radio Sports FM, a thing which has seen the 23-year old striker being rendered jobless despite his bright football history.

“During the medical test, there were some abnormally high rates in the results. The player and the club did not have time to discuss more about the problem because the transfer window was hours to closure,” a source was quoted by the radio.

“Normally Koudagba should have undergone a second test after five days but unfortunately this closing date prevented. Therefore the signature with the club has been cancelled as a precaution,”our source added.

Koudagba’s chances of landing a new club in his home country appear to be slim as a result of the positive condition not to mention the difficulty in acquiring a work permit.

Ducor Sports has also been informed that clubs based in North Africa, Gulf and the Middle East might no longer be interested in signing Koudagba in future as a result of the failed medical.

The attacker had been courted by RS Berkane before he travelled to Tunisia.
