Egypt Booted Out of Beach Nations Cup

Egypt’s hopes of securing a place in the Beach Soccer World Cup came crumbling yesterday after they succumbed to Nigeria.

Glum descended over The Pharaohs after the tie ended 6-5 in favor of the West Africans.

The North Africans’ exit marked their first defeat since the start of the tournament having won all three games in the group stage.

Egypt began the game on the back foot conceding twice before Mostafa Sasa and Costa each netted to put the hosts on level terms.

Then Nigerians struck again to with three more goals to leave the Egyptians gobsmacked.

Emboldened by the home support, the hosts kept pestering their adversaries, and they succeed, as the tie looked headed for post-game kicks with results later tied at 5-5. Then the unexpected happened –Nigeria surging late to blast home a winner 19 seconds to time.
