Nigeria’s Super Falcons have made the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations theirs after dumping South Africa on post-game penalties.

31-year-old goalkeeper Tochukwu Oluechi was the heroine as the Super Falcons grabbed the tournament’s staked prize for a record ninth time.

Regular time ended with both sides locked on goalless before the West Africans upstaged the Rainbow nation’s Banyana Banyana on 4-3 penalties.

Nigerian have been dominating the women’s scene and will join runners-up South Africa for the FIFA women’s World Cup billed for France.

The Banyana Banyana reached this level having sent Mali packing in the semis.
