Nigeria’s D’ Tigresses are three wins short of scooping the Africa Women’s basketball tourney.

Being staged in Senegal, the West Africans swaggered over nemesis Cameroon, beating them in all for quarters.

The first quarter wrapped up 21-7, the second going on 49-23, the third on 71-31 with Nigeria ahead of it all in a game Precious Amukamara was their standout, earning 14 points, six rebounds and three assists for the D’ Tigresses.

The West Africans’ thrive in Dakar wasn’t unexpected as they march closer to defending the crown they won in 2017.

Elsewhere, Mali stormed past DR Congo on 56-82 while Mozambique knackered Republic of Cape Verde 60-51.

Hosts and the Lionesses of Senegal were battling Egypt at press time.
