Uganda’s Peace Proscovia Wins Fast5trophy with Loughborough Lightning

Ugandan professional netballer, Peace Proscovia’s shooting accuracy helped Loughborough Lightning win the inaugural Fast5 Netball All Stars Netball Championship on Saturday.

Lightning scored a five-pointer in the last 20 seconds to win it 35-33 after the side had beaten Wasps Netball 31-27 to qualify for the finals. Team Bath had to overcome Seven Stars with a 34-26 win in the other semi-final.

The final started in team Bath’s favor with a 17-9 lead but Proscovia’s fine form on the shot helped Loughborough overturn the scoreline, winning the game in the last 20 seconds with 35-33.

The unique eight-team format includes shortened match times, three different scoring zones, unlimited roll-on-roll-off substitutions, and the opportunity to call a double point power play.
