Tunisia: Two Football Referees Banned for Favoritism

Two referees are facing suspensions until the end of the ongoing premier league in Tunisia. Referees Oussema Razgallah and assistant Amir Loucif were banned after being found guilty of favouritism.

The verdict comes after a referee commission probed allegations of favouritism directed at the two referees in a league match involving Club Athletique Bizertin and ES Metlaoui.

According to the match-referee monitoring body’s findings, the two arbiters conspired to give two penalties in favour of Bizertin while turning down ‘a genuine’ spot-kick appeal from Metlaoui.

The aforementioned referees are yet to publicly react or challenge to the decision to ban them until end of the season.
