Springbok and Lions scrumhalf, Faf de Klerk has signed for English Club Sale Sharks on a three-year deal.

The 25-year- old will join the club starting next season. Club director Steve Diamond couldn’t hide his excitement over the signing he described as ‘world class.’

“I am made up that Faf has decided to join us next season. He is tenacious with a fantastic work rate,” Diamond said.

De Klerk joins the Sale Sharks as Mike Phillips’ replacement – who retires at the end of the season. The South African’s experience in spite of his young age will be crucial in making Sale Sharks into one of the leading clubs in the Premiership.
