Hooray AC’s Dominance in Guinean League Continues

A dominant Athletique Club Horoya is on sizzling form in Guinea Conakry’s Ligue One with the side’s unbeaten run stretching to six games.

Winners of the African Cup Winners’ Cup in 1978, the capital-based side ran off with the trophy last season with a massive twenty-three points between them and second-placed Wakirya and is looking to walk a similar path albeit with only six games gone in the new championship.

Drawing only once so far, Horoyaa is yet to lose any of its games and last weekend snatched victory from the jaws of defeat, laboring past bottom-placed Kaloum Stars on a 2-1 score.

AC has amassed a combined sixteen points, scoring eleven goals and conceding five.

Wakirya, the sole side to pose any meaningful threat to Horoyaa’s campaign last term, is again trailing second on the table with just four points separating the two sides.

The points would have narrowed to a mere two points but Wakirya was forced to play out a 2-2 draw with a robust AS Ashanti Golden Boys.

In other fixtures, Gangan and ASFAG settled for a goalless tie while Hafia added to second from bottom, Fella Stars’ woes, thrashing them 3-2.
