Egypt’s Fathi Wins Costa Rica Open Title

Egypt’s World No.35 Karim Ali Fathi, claimed his 10th PSA World Tour title after he beat Mexico’s World No.49 Arturo Salazar in the final of the Costa Rica Open.

Fathi came through over four games to claim his first title since his 2014 win at the Sportspin Event Malaysian Tour Squash Circuit 6.

Elsewhere, Egypt’s World No.54 Youssef Soliman – who lifted the Garavan’s West of Ireland Open earlier this year – beat England’s World No.58 Joshua Masters 3-1 in the final of the International Squash of Madeira Island Open, without dropping a game throughout the competition.

At the City of Kalgoorlie & Boulder Golden Open, it was World No.206 Mike Corren who beat compatriot, Australia’s World No.135, Rhys Dowling 3-1 in the final.

Meanwhile in the women’s final, Australia’s World No.52 Tamika Saxby came from a game down to claim her sixth PSA World Tour title when she beat World No.105 Samantha Foyle 3-1 in the final. Foyle was appearing in her first PSA World Tour final since the South Australian Open in 2012.
