Chelsea Make €25m Bid for 20-Year-Old Ivorian Wonder Kid Franck Kessie

Chelsea have offered Atalanta B.C a staggering €25  million euros for Ivorian box to box midfielder Franck Kessie. The 20-year-old has been phenomenon for Atalanta BC helping them earn many critical points this season. His six goals and two assists have made Atlanta Serie A’s surprise team this season sitting comfortably in sixth place and are a testament to his potential.

Kessie played his first International game for the Elephants when he was 17 and is currently the Youngest African champion after winning the African Cup of nations in 2013.

He is considered by many Manchester City’s Yaya Toure’s successor not only due to his similar box to box style of play but his ability to muscle an opponent off the ball, and finding the goal with ease.

Chelsea’s Antonio Conte might have drawn first blood but reports suggest the Blues will have to wade of competition from other big European Clubs to sign the play maker.

According to Sky News, Jose Mourinho’s Manchester United have been in contact with Kessie for a while and are planning to submit a bid. Serie A champions Juventus are also reportedly keeping close tabs on the midfielder to cover the gap left behind by Paul Pogba’s departure.

With Kessie taking part in the coming of the African Cup of Nations, he surely will not be an option for teams looking to make immediate impact signings. Kessie is still under contract with Atlanta up to June 2021 but would be a wise buy for a team that’s building for the future.
