Brazilian Striker Terminates Contract with African Club

Brazilian-born Diogo Da Silva Faris Acosta has ended his love-affair with African club Etoile Sportive Du Sahel.

The 27-year-old terminated his deal with the Tunisian Premier League club with just six months left of his initial three-year agreement.

Both parties opted to go their separate ways having failed to reach a consensus over an extended contract on revised terms.

The breakdown in negotiations between the star and the club board is strongly linked to the Brazilian’s slow progress in front of goal after netting just thrice this campaign in fourteen games.

With his contract running down at June’s end this year, Sahel thought it best to broker a compromise with the centre-forward rather than let him leave on a free transfer.

And yesterday, third-placed ES Sahel announced the player’s departure having reached an ‘amicable solution.’

Acosta is yet to make any public remark regarding the situation or condition of his contract termination as well as his representative Amin Sakman.

The Brazilian has won three titles with Sahel, the CAF Confederation Cup, the Tunisian league and Cup gongs.
