Ahmed Musa’s Goal Takes Leicester Closer to the Premier League’s Longest Home Unbeaten Run

Nigeria’s forward Ahmed Musa scored his first premier league goal as the champions extended their home unbeaten run to 20 games.

Despite going into the game on a three match losing streak, the Foxes once again didn’t disappoint their faithful home fans adding another memorable performance at the King Power Stadium.

From their last 20 games, Leicester have won 13 and drawn seven to go only one game away from Chelsea’s “21-game streak” which ended in August last year.

Ahmed Musa opened the scoring in the 42nd minute firing in a powerful shot from outside the box after an impressive play by Algeria’s Islam Slimani. Musa also had a hand in Shinji Okazaki’s second goal before Christian Fuchs’ volley sealed the 3-1 win against Alan Padew’s Crystal Palace.

The 24-year-old’s lively performance didn’t go unnoticed and definitely caught the eye of his coach Claudio Ranieri who said the player is now “ready” for the Premier League after the match.

Musa was then later replaced by Demarai Grey in the 81st minute to rest for their next trip to White Hart Lane on October 29th.

This was Musa’s first goal for the Foxes in six appearances and just his second start in the League since his record move from CSKA Moscow.

Leicester are now in 13th place with 11 points from 9 games and have already lost more games than the entire last season. Today’s performance and win will however give Leicester fan’s confidence that they can handle the hectic Champions League and Premier League schedule.
